Verwandtschaft / Relationship

In den Fachbüchern steht (noch), dass wir Falken zwar nicht direkt zu den Greifvögeln gehören, sondern in der Ordnung eine eigene Familie sind, nämlich die „Falkenartigen“.
Es gibt aber DNA-Studien, die gezeigt haben, dass wir Falken näher mit Papageien verwandt sind, als mit Greifvögeln, wie dem Bussard oder dem Adler.

The textbooks (still) say that we falcons do not belong directly to the birds of prey, we are a separate family in the order.
But there are DNA studies that have shown that we falcons are more closely related to parrots than to birds of prey, such as the buzzard or the eagle.

Als mein Mensch das gelesen hat, hat sie gelacht und gesagt: „Ja, das passt.“
Was sie wohl damit gemeint hat?
Wir Falken passten nie so ganz zu den Greifvögeln. Alle Greifvögel sind Grifftöter.
Sie haben starke Klauen, mit denen sie ihre Beute töten und dann verspeisen.
Wir Falken sind Bisstöter, das bedeutet, wir halten unsere Beute mit den Klauen fest, töten sie aber durch einen Biss.

When my human read that, she laughed and said, „Yeah, that fits.“
I wonder what she meant by that.
We falcons never quite fit in with the birds of prey. All birds of prey are grip killers.
They have strong claws that they use to kill and then they eat their prey.
We falcons are bite killers, which means we hold our prey with our claws, but kill them with a bite.

Ich dachte Papageien seien Vegetarier, sie bevorzugen als Nahrung Obst und Gemüse. Aber ich habe mir sagen lassen, dass sie in der Natur auch Insekten und deren Larven fressen. Und Besitzer von Papageien geben ihnen manchmal Fisch (gegart) oder Hähnchenfleisch (gekocht). Also sind sie doch keine Vegetarier, sondern Omnivoren, das bedeutet Allesfresser.
Wir Falken sind Fleischfresser. Gemüse und Obst wird von uns absolut verweigert, wir mögen das nicht, und wir brauchen das nicht.

I thought parrots were vegetarians, prefering fruits and vegetables as food. But I was told that in nature they also eat insects and their larvae. And owners of parrots sometimes give them cooked fish or cooked chicken meat. So they are not vegetarians after all, but omnivores.
We falcons are carnivores. We absolutely refuse vegetables and fruits, we don’t like them and we don’t need them.

Was, außer die genetische Verwandtschaft, verbindet uns Falken also mit den Papageien?
Mein Mensch sagt, ich wäre auch frech und verspielt. Aha.

So what, other than genetic relationship, connects us falcons with parrots?

Und sie sagt, ich würde auch manchmal rumschreien, oder durch Lautäußerung etwas mitteilen wollen. Soso.

Was aber IMMER, egal ob Falke oder Papagei (oder sonstiges Tier), beachtet werden sollte:
Überlegt euch die Anschaffung SEHR gut, erkundigt euch nach den Bedürfnissen der Tiere, damit sicher gestellt ist, dass sowohl das Tier mit euch, als auch ihr mit dem Tier glücklich werdet.
