Man munkelt, dass manche Falkner geizig sind.
Als mir das zu Ohren kam, wollte ich es erst nicht glauben.
Zum Glück gehört mein Mensch nicht zu der Fraktion „Geiz ist geil“, obwohl sie Schwäbin ist. 😉
Dieser saublöde Spruch hat leider die Einkaufsgewohnheiten vieler Menschen geprägt. Alles soll billig sein. Was ist mit der Qualität? Oder der Regionalität? Oder der Nachhaltigkeit?
Mein Azubi sagt immer: „Wer billig kauft, kauft zweimal.“

This stupid phrase has unfortunately shaped the shopping habits of many people. Everything should be cheap. What about quality? Or regionality? Or sustainability?
My apprentice always says, „If you buy cheap, you buy twice.“
Man spricht ja in Falknerkreisen über dies und das, und immer wieder hört man von Leuten, die einen tollen Falken ihr Eigen nennen, aber beim Equipment wird gespart. Da hat der Falke eine Haube auf, die ausschaut, als hätten schon die Eltern des Falken die Haube getragen, alt und abgenutzt. Oder man kauft die günstigste Telemetrie-Anlage und wundert sich dann, dass man im Notfall seinen Vogel damit nicht finden kann, wenn er sich verstößt (wegfliegt).
Geiz ist nicht geil, Geiz ist doof!
We are talking in falconry circles about this and that, and again and again you can hear from people who call a great falcon their own, but they are stingy with the equipment. Ich bekomme als Atzung KEIN billiges Gammelfleisch. Würde mir mein Mensch das vorsetzen, dann würde ich beim nächsten Freiflug wegfliegen.
Mein Mensch möchte, dass ich gesund und glücklich bin, darum bekomme ich sehr gute und abwechslungsreiche Atzung.

Natürlich kann es Zeiten geben, in denen man den Gürtel enger schnallen muss, in denen man sparen MUSS, ob man will oder nicht. Das kann jeden treffen.
Ich wundere mich über die Leute, die Geld haben, aber darauf sitzen, wie ein Huhn auf dem Ei, und es ausschließlich für sich selbst ausgeben, und für ihre Tiere nur Billigkruscht kaufen, und nie etwas spenden, und …. ach, was rege ich mich eigentlich auf?

Wer einem Tier ein Zuhause gibt, ist für das Tier und sein Wohlergehen verantwortlich. Man muss nicht das teuerste Zeugs kaufen, aber auch nicht das billigste. Dazwischen gibt es auch noch was. Lieber auf Qualität achten und auch darauf, wer es herstellt. Wenn möglich bevorzuge ich „Made in Germany“. 🙂

Anyone who gives an animal a home is responsible for the animal and its welfare. You don’t have to buy the most expensive stuff, but you don’t have to buy the cheapest either. There is also something in between. Rather look for quality and also who makes it. If possible I prefer „Made in Germany“. 🙂

Auf dem stehe ich, bevor es zum Training geht, damit mein Mensch den Sender an meinem Ständer (Fuß) befestigen kann.
Und der Falkensitz passt perfekt auf den Beifahrersitz im Auto, so kann mein Mensch bei der Beizjagd im Revier herumfahren, und ich bin direkt neben ihr, so kann es schnell losgehen, wenn irgendwo Beute für mich ist.
